- Make sure carburetor is not on fast idle cam (disconnect choke if necessary). Loosen adjustment bracket lock screw.NOTE: Bracket must be free to slide on its slot.
- Hold transmission lever firmly rearward against its internal stop and tighten lock screw. This completes adjustment as cable backlash was automatically removed.
- To check linkage freedom of operation, move transmission lever forward and slowly release, making sure it returns to full rear position.
