Turbo Boost Cut-Out Switch

  1. Disconnect hose from test point "A". See Figure. Connect a pressure gauge to hose. Start and run engine at 3000 RPM. Record pressure reading. Disconnect gauge and reconnect hose.
    NOTE: If no pressure is indicated, check turbocharger operation, and for a pinched hose between manifold and turbo boost cut-out switch.
  2. Disconnect hose from test point "B". See Figure. Connect a pressure gauge to hose. Start and run engine at 3000 RPM. Record pressure reading. Pressure reading should be equal to reading at test point "A", in step 1.
  3. If pressure is okay, turbo boost cut-out switch is operating correctly. If pressure is not okay, and engine coolant temperature is below 239°F (115°C), replace cut-out switch. Disconnect gauge and reconnect hose.
