New Workshop Procedure: Left-hand Steering Column Multifunction Switch Removal/Installation





AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE

CONDITION SUMMARY:

REVISED REMOVAL/INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR LEFT-HAND STEERING COLUMN MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH

Situation:

A revised procedure for the removal and installation of the *left-hand* steering column multifunction switch has been released. It is no longer necessary to remove the left-hand side lower fascia panel.

Action:

In the event it is necessary to remove the switch, refer to the Repair Procedure below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

REMOVING THE LEFT-HAND MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH

NOTE:
Global Technical Reference (GTR) lookup sequence is as follows:

GTR Home> NAS> Model > Service Information> Model Year> Workshop Manuals >Chassis> 211-05 - Steering Column Switches > Steering Column Multifunction Switch LH (86.65.78).





1. Remove the steering column lower cowl. (Figure 1)

^ Remove the two screws.

^ If installed, disconnect the steering column and foot pedal control switch electrical connector.





2. Remove the steering column upper cowl. (Figure 2)

^ Remove the three screws.





3. Remove the steering column multifunction switch. (Figure 3)

^ Depress the two clips.

^ Disconnect the electrical connector.

INSTALLING THE LEFT-HAND MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH

CAUTION:
Ensure that the electrical harness is not trapped during the installation.

1. Install the multifunction switch.

^ Connect the electrical connector.

^ Align the lugs and secure the clips.

2. Install the steering column upper cowl.

^ Install the screws.

3. Install the steering column lower cowl.

^ Connect the steering column and foot pedal switch electrical connectors.

^ Secure in the clips.

^ Install the screws.
