Intermediate Muffler RH: Removal
2002 Jaguar XK8 2D CoupeSECTION Removal
- Position the vehicle on a four-post ramp.
- Raise the rear of the vehicle and support on two suitable vehicle stands.
- Raise the vehicle on the ramp.
- Remove the rear muffler/tailpipe assembly; Refer to MUFFLER AND TAILPIPE RHΒ .
- Remove the front grass shields (Japanese market only).
- Remove the grass shield securing bolts.
- Move the front muffler forward to allow the intermediate muffler to be removed.
- Slacken the front muffler to downpipe catalytic converter securing clamps (left- and right-hand sides).
- Remove the intermediate muffler assembly.
- Slacken the intermediate to front muffler securing clamp and disconnect the intermediate muffler from the front muffler. (1)
- Disengage the peg from the mounting rubber. (2)
- Clean the exhaust joints.
