Removal Procedure

2006 Isuzu Ascender S, 5.3 M, 4WDSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant from the radiator. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LL8)Β  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LH6, LS2)Β .
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Remove the lower radiator support shield, if equipped. Refer to Radiator Support Shield Replacement .

  6. Reposition the outlet radiator hose clamp using J 38185Β  from the lower radiator hose (1). See Special ToolsΒ .
  7. Remove the outlet radiator hose from the radiator.

  9. Reposition the inlet radiator hose clamps (1) and remove hose (2).
  10. Remove the transmission cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Remove the cooling fan and shroud. Refer to Cooling Fan and Shroud ReplacementΒ .
  13. Remove the radiator support diagonal brace. Refer to Radiator Support Diagonal Brace Replacement .
  14. Remove the coolant recovery line from the radiator.

  16. Disconnect the radiator side panels from the shroud (1).
  17. Remove the radiator.
  18. Remove the bolts retaining the condenser to the radiator.
