Removal Procedure
2006 Isuzu Ascender S, 5.3 M, 4WDSECTION Removal Procedure

- Drain the coolant from the radiator. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LL8)Β or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LH6, LS2)Β .
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the lower radiator support shield, if equipped. Refer to Radiator Support Shield Replacement .
- Reposition the outlet radiator hose clamp using J 38185Β from the lower radiator hose (1). See Special ToolsΒ .
- Remove the outlet radiator hose from the radiator.
- Reposition the inlet radiator hose clamps (1) and remove hose (2).
- Remove the transmission cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the cooling fan and shroud. Refer to Cooling Fan and Shroud ReplacementΒ .
- Remove the radiator support diagonal brace. Refer to Radiator Support Diagonal Brace Replacement .
- Remove the coolant recovery line from the radiator.
- Disconnect the radiator side panels from the shroud (1).
- Remove the radiator.
- Remove the bolts retaining the condenser to the radiator.
