2006 Isuzu Ascender S, 5.3 M, 4WDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the moveable roof panel guide and cable assembly (1) into the channel of the moveable roof panel frame assembly (2).

  3. Slide the roof panel guide forward until it is engaged in the channel of the roof panel frame assembly.
  4. Slide the rear latch assembly (2) forward into the frame assembly.

  6. Slide the rear latch levers (1) into the channel, and position the latch lever (1) between the notches of the roof panel guide (2).

  8. Slide the roof panel guide (1) forward until it is positioned at the notch in the channel of the moveable roof frame assembly.
  9. Install the roof panel support slide (2) onto the roof panel guide (1).

  11. Slide the roof panel guide (1) and support slide (2) assembly forward into track on the moveable roof panel frame assembly.
  12. Install the moveable roof panel latch spring. Refer to Moveable Roof Panel Latch Spring Replacement - RearΒ .
  13. Install the moveable roof panel rear locator. Refer to Moveable Roof Panel Locator Replacement - RearΒ .
  14. To ensure proper timing of the roof panel, slide the roof panel guide(s) rearward until it stops against the rear locator assembly.
  15. Install the moveable roof panel actuator/motor. Refer to Moveable Roof Panel Motor/Actuator ReplacementΒ .
  16. Install the moveable roof panel bracket. Refer to Moveable Roof Panel Guide Bracket ReplacementΒ .
  17. Install the moveable roof panel. Refer to Moveable Roof Panel Assembly ReplacementΒ .
  18. Perform a roof learn cycle by depressing the roof switch forward until the roof panel is fully opened, then depress the roof switch rearward until the roof panel is fully closed.
  19. Inspect for proper operation of the moveable roof panel and end gate window.
