- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
- Remove the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Remove and discard the outer tie rod retaining nuts.
