CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution .

Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module when performing this diagnostic. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

  1. Ignition OFF, remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement (Equinox) or Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement (Torrent) .
  2. Disconnect the harness connector at the steering wheel controls switch-left.
  3. Cruise switch ON, test for less than infinite resistance between the steering wheel control supply voltage and the cruise control indicator dimming signal circuit at the terminals of the steering wheel controls switch-left.
    • If the resistance measured is infinite, replace the steering wheel controls switch-left.
  4. Test the cruise control indicator dimming signal circuit for an open/high resistance between the BCM and the steering wheel controls switch-left.
    • If the cruise control indicator dimming signal circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
