All the procedures below are designed to set-up a new Body Control Module (BCM) correctly during BCM related service. Some of the procedures may need to be performed separately when replacing other modules or components. Before you start, read these procedures carefully and completely.

IMPORTANT: The following procedures must be followed:
  1. Programming the BCM
  2. Programming Theft Deterrent System Components, if equipped with Passlock System
  3. Relearn Restraints ID

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

  • β€’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
  • β€’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
