Blower Motor Does Not Run At Any Speed

1996 Isuzu Oasis SSECTION Blower Motor Does Not Run At Any Speed
  1. Check fuse No. 17 (40-amp) in underhood fuse/relay block. Check fuse No. 8 (7.5-amp) in underdash fuse/relay block. If fuse(s) are blown, replace fuse(s). Repair short to ground if necessary. If fuses are okay, connect a jumper wire between ground and Blue/Red wire terminal of blower motor connector.
  2. Turn ignition on. If blower motor runs, go to next step. If blower motor does not run, disconnect jumper wire. Unplug blower motor connector. Measure voltage at Yellow/Black wire terminal of blower motor connector. If battery voltage is present, replace blower motor. If battery voltage is not present, go to step 5).
  3. Turn ignition off and disconnect jumper wire. Remove heater control panel. Unplug blower switch connector from back of heater control panel. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at Blue/Red wire terminal of blower switch connector. If battery voltage is not present, repair open Blue/Red wire.
  4. If battery voltage is present, turn ignition off. Check for open Black wire between blower switch and ground. If Black wire is okay, replace blower switch.
  5. Turn ignition off. Remove and test blower motor relay. See RELAYSΒ  under TESTING. If blower motor relay is okay, measure voltage at terminal No. 3 of blower motor relay socket. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage is not present, repair open White wire between underhood fuse/relay block and underdash fuse/relay block.
  6. If battery voltage is present, turn ignition on. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage is not present, replace underdash fuse/relay block. If battery voltage is present, turn ignition off. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 4 of relay socket.
  7. If continuity does not exist, repair open Black wire between underdash fuse/relay block and ground. If continuity exists, repair open Yellow/Black wire between underdash fuse/relay block and blower motor.
