Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR 1 POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITÂ
- Disconnect accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor harness connector.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check the voltage between APP sensor harness connector and ground.
APP sensor Ground Voltage (V) Connector Terminal M9 (Without ICC) 5 Ground Approx. 5 M153 (With ICC) 6 Is the inspection result normal?Â
YES: GO TO Â 6.
NO: GO TO 2.
- CHECK SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITÂ
Check harness for short to power and short to ground, between the following terminals.
ECM Sensor Connector Terminal Name Connector Terminal F111 81 Throttle position sensor (bank 1) F66 2 82 Throttle position sensor (bank 2) F64 2 83 Camshaft position sensor (bank 2) F83 1 85 Manifold absolute pressure sensor F19 1 M160 5 APP sensor 1 (Without ICC) M9 5 6 APP sensor 1 (With ICC) M153 6 Is the inspection result normal?Â
YES: GO TO 3.
NO: Repair short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- CHECK COMPONENTSÂ
Check the following.
- Camshaft position sensor (bank 2) (Refer to "COMPONENT INSPECTION (CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR)Â ".)
- Manifold absolute pressure sensor (Refer to
"COMPONENT INSPECTION (MAP SENSOR)
".)
Is the inspection result normal?Â
YES: GO TO 4.
NO: Replace malfunctioning component.
- CHECK THROTTLE POSITION SENSORÂ
Refer to "COMPONENT INSPECTION (THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR)Â ".
Is the inspection result normal?Â
YES: GO TO Â 8.
NO: GO TO 5.
- REPLACE ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL ACTUATORÂ
Replace electric throttle control actuator. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
: INSPECTION END
- CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSORÂ
Refer to "COMPONENT INSPECTION (ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR) ".
Is the inspection result normal?Â
YES: GO TO Â 8.
NO: GO TO 7.
- REPLACE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLYÂ
Replace accelerator pedal assembly.
Refer to "MODELS WITHOUT DISTANCE CONTROL ASSIST SYSTEM: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION " (Without distance control assist system).
Refer to "MODELS WITH DISTANCE CONTROL ASSIST SYSTEM: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION " (With distance control assist system).

- CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENTÂ
