SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH
Description
Seat belt buckle switch is installed in seat belt buckle. Seat belt buckle switch detects condition of seat belt.
Component Function Check
1. CHECK FUNCTION
1.Turn ignition switch ON.
2.Select "SEAT BELT SW" in the "Data Monitor" mode using CONSULT.
3.Check the seat belt buckle switch signal under the following condition.
Is the indication normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Perform diagnosis procedure. Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" .
Diagnosis Procedure
1. CHECK SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH SIGNAL
1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect seat belt buckle switch harness connector.
3.Check voltage between seat belt buckle switch harness connector harness connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 3.
NO- GO TO 2.
2. CHECK SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH CIRCUIT
1.Disconnect driver seat control unit connector.
2.Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and seat belt buckle switch harness connector.
3.Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Replace driver seat control unit. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.
NO- Repair or replace harness.
3. CHECK SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT
Check continuity between seat belt buckle switch harness connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 4.
NO- Repair or replace harness.
4. CHECK SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH
Refer to "Component Inspection" .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 5.
NO- Replace seat belt buckle switch (Built in seat belt buckle). Refer to "Exploded View" Exploded View.
5. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Refer to "Intermittent Incident" Intermittent Incident.
- INSPECTION END
Component Inspection
1. CHECK SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH
1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect seat belt buckle switch connector.
3.Check continuity between seat belt buckle switch terminals.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Replace seat belt buckle switch (Built in seat belt buckle). Refer to "Exploded View" Exploded View.
