MY 2005-2008; ENGINE NO-START WITH NATS DTC P1610
APPLIED VEHICLE: 2005 - 2008 All Infiniti with NATS/Immobilizer system
IF YOU CONFIRM
"No-start" condition
and
DTC P1610 (Lock Mode) is the only NATS related DTC stored.
ACTIONS
1. Using GR-8 check the battery voltage and state of charge (SOC).
^ Service (fill clean charge or replace) the battery as needed.
IMPORTANT:
A battery may check OK under a "no load" test; however once cranking occurs the battery voltage can drop resulting in "no-start".
2. Clear NATS DTC and confirm the no-start condition is resolved.
^ If the no-start condition is resolved with battery service repair is complete.
3. If the "no-start" condition is not resolved with battery service or if other NATS DTCs such as P1611, P1612, P1613, P1614, P1615, B2191, B2192 B2193, B2590 are found refer to ASIST/Service Manual for further diagnostic information as needed.
NOTE:
If the security indicator light is OFF (not illuminated) during or after engine cranking:
^ The issue is not related to NATS.
^ Do not replace NATS components.
^ Refer to the ASIST / Service Manual for further diagnostics.

^ The Security Indicator Light appearance and location varies between vehicles. Refer to the vehicle Owner's Manual.
