DTC Information and Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL, FWDSECTION DTC Detecting Condition
Trouble Shooting Condition Possible Cause
Main Action
  • Internal monitoring
  1. Poor contact of connector
  2. Faulty ESP (ESC)
Threshold Value Case1 (EPB power)
  • A failure is detected when the voltage of motor supply power is lower than 4V for 150 milliseconds
Case2 (EPB Current Sensor Error)
  • A failure is detected when the current difference between main and sub is over than 5A for 200 milliseconds during motor driving
  • A failure is detected when the current is greater than |2|A during motor non-driving
Case3 (EPB Pre-drive FET Error)
  • A failure is detected when the VMTP is over than 1V for 200 ms in case that the High side FET is off and Low side FET is ON
  • A failure is detected when the motor voltage is 3V lower than to EPB motor power supply voltage for 200 milliseconds, while high side FET is on and low side FET is OFF
  • A failure is detected when the FET Vds is out of a specified value for 100 milliseconds
  • A failure is detected when a difference between FET state measured in EPB Driver IC and programmed value by SPI is detected for 100 milliseconds
Case4 (EPB Driver HW Error)
  • A failure is detected when the internal faults of driver IC are detected for 100 milliseconds
  • A failure is detected when the abnormal internal power supply is detected for 100 milliseconds
Case5 (EPB power)
  • A failure is detected when the EPB motor voltage is less than 1V for 200 milliseconds in case that the Low side FET and Kill-Line FET is ON
MIL
  • AVH/EPB warning lamps are activated
Reset Condition
  • When the normal state is confirmed after ignition switch turned OFF and back ON

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

  • β€’ You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
  • β€’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
  • β€’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
  • β€’ You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
  • β€’ You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
