  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
  3. Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode.
  4. Using a GDS, Clear DTC.
  5. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
  6. Are any DTCs present?

    YESΒ 

    • Substitute with a known-good steering column & EPS unit assembly check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace steering column & EPS unit assembly and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIRΒ " procedure.

    NOΒ 

    • Fault is intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and EPS CM memory is not cleared yet.

      Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIRΒ " procedure.
