Repair Procedures: Removal

2014 Hyundai Azera BaseSECTION Removal
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the crash pad lower panel.

    (Refer to "CRASH PAD LOWER PANEL ")

  3. Remove the steering column upper and lower shrouds.

    (Refer to "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")

  4. Disconnect the electronic steering column lock connector (A).

  5. Remove the electronic steering column lock after removing the shear bolts.
    NOTE: Using a suitable tool, cut slots into the heads of the shear bolts.
    Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from flying bits of metal.
    Wear work gloves to protect your hands from any sharp metal edges on the shear bolt.
