DTC P0551: Power Steering Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance: General Description
To reduce the energy required to manipulate steering wheel, hydraulic pressure is used in the power steering system. A load is sensed at steering oil pressure sensor, and then inputted to the ECM as a wheel position signal. Controlling idle speed valve, the ECM performs the appropriate electric load correction using this signal.

When to See a Mechanic
