Repair procedures: Removal
2011 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS, 3.5 G, AWDSECTION Removal

- Remove the following items;
- Engine cover (A) and the duct (B). (Refer to INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM .)
- Air cleaner assembly (C). (Refer to INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM .)
- Battery and battery tray (D). (Refer to CHARGING SYSTEM .)
- Remove the ground line after removing the bolt (A).
- Remove the shift cable (C) after removing the nut (A) and the bolt (B).
Tightening torque:Β
- 7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)
- 14.7 ~21.6 N.m (1.5 ~2.2 kgf.m, 10.9 ~15.9 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the solenoid valve connector (B) and inhibitor switch connector (A).
- Disconnect the hose (B) after removing the automatic transaxle fluid cooler hose clamp (A).
- Remove the automatic transaxle upper mounting bolt (B).
- Remove the start motor mounting bolt (A). (Refer to STARTING SYSTEM
.)
Tightening torque:Β
- 42.2 ~ 54.0 N.m (4.3 ~5.5 kgf.m, 31.1 ~ 39.8 lb-ft)
- 49.0 ~ 63.7 N.m (5.0 ~6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 ~ 47.0 lb-ft)
- Using the SST (09200-38001), hold the engine and transaxle assembly safely.
- Remove the automatic transaxle mounting support bracket bolt (A).
Tightening torque:Β
78.5 ~ 107.9 N.m (8.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)
- Remove the under cover (A).
- Remove the following items;
- Front wheels. (Refer to TIRES/WHEELS .)
- Sub frame assembly. (Refer to FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM .)
- Drive shaft assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly. (Refer to DRIVESHAFT ASSEMBLY .)
- Propeller shaft. (Refer to PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY .)
- In the case of 4WD vehicle, remove the transfer assembly. (Refer to TRANSFER ASSEMBLY .)
- Remove the side cover (A).
- Remove the dust cover. (A)
- Remove the torque converter mounting bolt (A) (6ea) with rotating the crankshaft.
Tightening torque:Β
45.1 ~ 52.0 N.m (4.6 ~ 5.3 kgf.m, 33.3 ~ 38.3 lb-ft)
- Remove the automatic transaxle with a jack after removing the lower mounting bolt (A-4ea, B-2ea).
Tightening torque:Β
- 34.3 ~ 41.2 N.m (3.5 ~ 4.2 kgf.m, 25.3 ~ 30.4 lb-ft)
- 78.5 ~ 98.1 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 72.4 lb-ft)
