NOTE:
When scrapping vehicles with undeployed components, components must be deployed inside vehicle.
- Move vehicle to an isolated area. Open all windows and doors. Disconnect negative, then positive battery cables. Remove battery from vehicle. Place battery 20 feet (6.1 m) from vehicle. Wait 30 seconds before continuing deployment procedure.
- Remove driver-side center console side cover, located above gas pedal. Disconnect SRS Control Module (SRSCM) connector. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATIONΒ . Disconnect all SRS component connectors. Connect battery leads of Deployment Tool (09574A-34100) together to prevent accidental component deployment. Connect deployment tool to appropriate component using deployment adapter. For driver-side air bag module and seat belt pretensioners, use Deployment Adapter (0957A-38500). For passenger-side air bag module and side impact air bag modules, use Deployment Adapter (0957A-38100).
- Disconnect battery leads of deployment tool. Ensure that no one is within 20 feet (6.1 m) of vehicle. Connect battery leads to vehicle battery. Press deployment button on deployment tool to deploy selected component.
