Anti-Lock Braking System Control Module: Installation

2003 Hyundai Accent GL, 2D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Installation
  1. Install the HECU, then connect the brake lines.

    Tighten the HECU mounting bolts and brake tube nuts to the specified torque.

    1. Tightening torque 
    2. HECU mounting bolt:
    3. 8-10 Nm (80-100 kg.cm, 6-7.3 lb.ft)
    4. Brake tube nut:
    5. 13-17 Nm (130-170 kg.cm, 10-12 lb.ft)
  2. Connect the HECU connector.
  3. Bleed the brake system.
  4. Start the engine, and check that the ABS indicator goes off.
  5. Test-drive the vehicle, and check that the ABS indicator does not come on.
