Overrunning Clutch

2003 Hyundai Accent BaseSECTION Overrunning Clutch
  1. While holding clutch housing, rotate drive pinion. Drive pinion should rotate smoothly in one direction, but not in the reverse direction. See Fig 1 Replace overrunning clutch if operation is not as specified. See OVERHAUL  .
  2. Visually inspect drive pinion. If drive pinion is worn or burred, replace overrunning clutch. If drive pinion is damaged, also check ring gear for wear or burrs. See OVERHAUL  .
