Power Steering Pump: Reassembly
2002 Hyundai Accent GL, AutomaticSECTION Reassembly
NOTE:
Apply a thin coat of power steering fluid to all oil seals or "O" rings.
- Install oil pump switch. Install flow control valve spring, valve and connector to pump body.
- Install guide bracket and nut. Using Installer (09222-32100) or equivalent, install oil seal to pump body (1). See Fig 1. See SPECIAL TOOLSΒ . Being careful not to damage oil seal, gently install pump shaft with bearing (2).
- Install spring along with inner and outer "O" ring seals (3). Install front side plate. Insert pins into grooves in housing. Install cam ring, being careful to proper direction (4).
- Install rotor, with punch mark facing towards front side plate. Install vanes with round side facing out, flat side facing in. See Fig 2.
- Install gasket and rear cover. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Install suction pipe and suction pipe "O" ring. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
