Fwd Axle Shafts: Inspection
Clean inner race, cage and balls without disassembling. Check for rusted or damaged DOJ outer race, inner race, cage and balls. Check for worn splines. Check for water, foreign material or rust in Birfield Joint boot. Replace components as necessary.
Clean axle shaft splines and inspect for wear and damage. Check spider assembly for roller rotation, wear or corrosion. Check groove inside TJ housing for wear or corrosion. Check dynamic damper for cracking or damage. Check for water, foreign material or rust in Birfield Joint boot. Replace components as necessary.
