A/T Shift Lock Solenoid

1996 Hyundai Elantra Base, 4D Sedan, Automatic, KM175SECTION A/T Shift Lock Solenoid
  1. Disconnect electrical connector at A/T shift lock solenoid, located on shift lever. See Figure .
  2. Measure resistance between connector terminals No. 13 and No. 14. See Figure . Replace A/T shift lock solenoid if resistance is not 12-16 ohms.
  3. To check A/T shift lock solenoid operation, connect battery voltage to terminals on A/T shift lock solenoid electrical connector.
  4. When battery voltage is applied, clicking sound should be heard to indicate solenoid operation. Replace A/T shift lock solenoid if solenoid fails to operate.
