MPI Control Relay (SCOUPE)

1994 Hyundai Scoupe LS, AutomaticSECTION MPI Control Relay (SCOUPE)
  1. Relay is located behind driver's dash panel, near ECM. Disconnect harness connector. Removal of relay may assist in testing. Apply battery voltage to terminal No. 4 (positive) and ground terminal No. 2 (negative). See Fig 1 .
  2. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between terminal No. 1 and terminal No. 5. Continuity should exist. Check for continuity between terminal No. 5 and terminal No. 3. Replace relay if continuity does not exist.
  3. Disconnect relay harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between relay harness connector terminals No. 4 and 5 (White/Blue wires) and vehicle ground. If battery voltage is not present, inspect and repair circuit.
  4. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. Connect jumper wire between ECM harness connector terminal No. 36 and vehicle ground. See Figure . Using ohmmeter, check resistance between relay harness connector terminal No. 2 (Black/Green wire) and vehicle ground. If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed.
