1991 SONATA SECURITY SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING
This TSB is provided to assist you in troubleshooting of three conditions which may occur on 1991 Sonata's equipped with a Hyundai security system.
Condition 1. The alarm chirps repeatedly when armed, instead of the correct single chirp.
Condition 2. The alarm will not always arm, but when it does, opening the trunk will not trigger it.
Condition 3. The alarm will not always enter the valet mode. (Valet mode is when the main
alarm switch is "off"). The security system never actually turns off, but the
alarm is prevented from completing its arming sequence. The alarm switch LED
will glow steadily when in valet mode.
