- Raise and support side frame of vehicle with jack stands. Remove wheel assemblies. Remove brake drums and wheel bearings. Disconnect brake lines and parking brake cable. Remove brake assembly. Remove muffler and pipe.
- Raise suspension slightly with floor jack. Disconnect shock absorbers from suspension arms. Lower suspension enough to remove coil springs. Remove fixture-to-body bolts. See Fig 1 . Remove suspension assembly.
