Engine Removal and Installation: Installation

The power cables carry high voltage when the electric powertrain system is energized. To avoid serious injury from electrical shock, do not turn on the system with the power cables disconnected.
The electric powertrain components are located in this area. The electric powertrain is a high-voltage system. You must be familiar with the electric powertrain system before working on or around it. Make sure you have read the electric powertrain service precautions before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:Β
- Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
- To avoid damaging the wiring and terminals, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.
- Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection. Also, be sure that they do not contact other wiring or hoses, or interfere with other parts.
- Lower Torque Rod Bracket - Install
1. If the lower torque rod bracket is removed, install the lower torque rod bracket . - Engine/Transmission (e-CVT) - Position
1. Position the engine/transmission (e-CVT) under the vehicle, and be sure that they are properly positioned. Carefully lower the vehicle, and stop with the installation position of the engine/transmission (e-CVT). - Chain Hoist - Install
1. Attach a chain hoist (A) to the universal lifting eyelet and the transmission hanger bracket (C), then lift the engine/transmission (e-CVT) until it is securely supported by the chain hoist.
NOTE:Β Do not use transmission hanger B.
- Transmission Mount Bracket Mounting Bolt and Nut - Loosely Install
- Engine - Support
1. Lift and support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan. - Chain Hoist and Universal Lifting Eyelet - Remove
- Side Engine Mount - Loosely Install
- Transmission Hanger Bracket - Remove
1. Remove the transmission hanger bracket (P/N 21232-RCT-A00) (A) from the transmission (e-CVT). - Vehicle - Lift
1. Raise the vehicle. - Front Subframe - Support
1. Set the subframe adapter (VSB02C000016) on a transmission jack (A), line up the slots in the arms with the bolt holes on the corner of the jack base, and tighten the bolts. 2. Attach the subframe adapter to the front subframe (B).
- Front Subframe - Install
- Lower Arm Mounting Bolt - Install
1. Install the lower arm mounting bolt on both sides . - Lower Torque Rod Mounting Bolt - Loosely Install
- Vehicle - Lower
- All Engine Mount Mounting Bolt and Nut - Tighten
- Vehicle - Lift
1. Raise the vehicle. - Propeller Shaft - Install
- Front Driveshaft - Install
- Lower Arm - Connect
- Front Stabilizer Link Ball Joint - Connect
- Tie-Rod End Ball Joint - Connect
- Exhaust Pipe A - Install
- Connector (EPS Motor/Control Unit) - Connect
- Electric A/C Compressor - Install
- Radiator - Install
- ATF Hose - Connect
- Ground Cable (Transmission (e-CVT) Side) - Connect
- Vehicle - Lower
- Steering Joint - Connect
- Heater Hose - Connect
- Fuel Feed Hose and EVAP Canister Purge Hose - Connect
1. Connect the fuel feed hose (A), then install the quick-connect fitting cover (B) .
2. Connect the EVAP canister purge hose (C) . - Cooling Hose - Connect
- PCU - Install
- Connector (Engine Wire Harness and Park Pawl Actuator Harness) - Connect
1. Install the harness clamps (A).
2. Connect the connectors (B).
- 12 Volt Battery Base - Install
- PCM - InstallΒ
- Air Intake Tube B - InstallΒ
- Intake Air Resonator - InstallΒ
- Service Plug - Turn On
- 12 Volt Battery - Install
- ATF - Refill
- PCU Coolant - Refill
- Engine Oil - Refill
- Engine Coolant - Refill
- Fuel Leak - Check
1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not turn the READY TO DRIVE mode. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel line will be pressurized. Repeat this two or three time, then check for fuel leakage. - Fluid Leak - Check
- Front Bulkhead Cover - Install
- Vehicle - Lift
1. Raise the vehicle. - Engine Undercover - Install
- Front Wheel - Install
- Vehicle - Lower
- PCM - Reset
- CKP Pattern - Clear/Learn
- Idle Speed - Inspect
- Ignition Timing - Inspect
- Wheel Alignment - Check
- VSA Sensor Neutral Position - Memorize

When to See a Mechanic
