DTC P0DA8
DTC P0DA8: HV Battery Voltage/Motor Inverter Voltage Correlation
General Description
The battery condition monitor module compares inverter voltage information and battery pack voltage information obtained from the battery voltage cell voltage sensor. If the difference between the battery pack voltage and the inverter voltage is a specified value and continues for a specified duration, the battery condition monitor module detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
| Execution | Continuous |
| Sequence | None |
| Duration | 2 seconds or more |
| DTC Type | One drive cycle, MIL off, POWER SYSTEM indicator on, 12 VOLT CHARGING SYSTEM indicator on |
Enable Conditions
| Condition | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Battery condition monitor module power-supply voltage | 10.2 V | - |
| Difference between inverter voltage and electric A/C compressor voltage | 26 V | - |
| Vehicle | ON mode | |
Malfunction Threshold
The difference between the battery pack voltage and the MPI module voltage is more than 50 V and continues for at least 2 seconds.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- High voltage contactor CNTP line open
- High voltage contactor CNTPSIN line open
- High voltage contactor CNTP line short
- High voltage contactor CNTPSIN line short
- Battery power cable open
- Electric A/C compressor internal circuit failure
- High voltage contactor stuck off
- Power control unit (PCU) internal circuit failure
- Battery condition monitor module internal circuit failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the battery condition monitor module memory. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command or the battery condition monitor module reset.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
