Navigation display stays on with ignition switch in LOCK (0)
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Before troubleshooting, get the navigation system anti-theft code.
- After troubleshooting, re-enter the anti-theft code, and re-initialize the navigation system.
- Check for aftermarket accessories that use the same power circuit. A feedback can cause this problem. For example, a cell phone, video game console, or an A.C. inverter plug into the front of rear accessory power sockets.
- Remove the key from the ignition.
Does the navigation screen stay on?
YES - Go to step 2.
NO - The system is OK at this time.
- The vehicle may have been used as a demonstration vehicle at an event like an auto show. In these events, power is often jumpered to the navigation system so that the ignition key is not needed in the vehicle. At the end of the show, the jumper wire may not have been removed. Check the navigation unit C (8P) connector for a non-factory jumper wire in series with the factory cable.
Is there a jumper wire?
YES - Remove the jumper wire, and re-test.
NO - Go to step 3.
- The navigation display or navigation unit may have been jumpered to allow the navigation system to run without the ignition key.
Does the system function with the ignition switch is in LOCK (0)?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Go to step 5.
- Remove the navigation display and check to see if the display unit connector A (20P) has a non-factory jumper wire in series with the factory connector.
Is there a jumper wire?
YES - Remove the jumper wire, and re-test.
NO - Go to step 5.
- Check the interior lights with the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
Can you turn on the interior lights with the ignition switch off?
YES - Troubleshoot the ACC circuit.
NO - Replace the navigation unit NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
