Unable to select audio disc changer
- Check the vehicle battery condition first.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Insert a known-good disc into the audio disc changer.
Does the disc load?
YES -Go to step 2.
NO -Go to audio disc does not load troubleshooting (see AUDIO DISC DOES NOT EJECT ).
- Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
- Disconnect audio unit connector D (14P).
- Disconnect audio disc changer connector A (18P).
- Check for continuity between the audio unit connector D (14P) and body ground according to the table.AUDIO UNIT CONNECTOR CHART
Audio unit connector Wire color D9 LT BLU D10 PUR Is there continuity?
YES -Short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio unit and audio disc changer. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO -Go to step 6.
- Check for continuity between the terminals of audio unit connector D (14P) according to the table.TERMINAL REFERENCE
From terminal To terminal D3 D9, D10 D9 D10 Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES -Short in the wires between the audio unit and the audio disc changer. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO -Go to step 7.
