NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
  • Make sure that the correct navigation DVD color and version are installed.
  • Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
  1. Connect the HDS to the DLC GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION .
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Are there any DTCs present? 

    YES  - Troubleshooting the DTC, then recheck.

    NO  - Go to step 4.

  4. Start the vehicle.
  5. Make sure the anti-theft code for the audio system is entered.
  6. Go into the Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Self-Diagnosis Items menu (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE - ('10 MODEL) ).
  7. Check the System Links.

    Is the XM icon red? 

    YES  -Do the troubleshooting for the voice guidance cannot be heard, is broken up, or there is static (see GPS ICON IS WHITE OR NOT SHOWN ).

    NO  -Go to step 5.

  8. Substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - ('10 MODEL) ).

    Can the navigation system control XM radio functions? 

    YES  -Replace the original audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - ('10 MODEL) ).

    NO  -Replace the XM receiver (see STEREO AMPLIFIER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
