Diagnostic Test: System Links
- Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
- Make sure that the correct navigation DVD color and version are installed.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Connect the HDS to the DLC GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION .
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are there any DTCs present?
YES - Troubleshooting the DTC, then recheck.
NO - Go to step 4.
- Start the vehicle.
- Make sure the anti-theft code for the audio system is entered.
- Go into the Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Self-Diagnosis Items menu (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE - ('10 MODEL) ).
- Check the System Links.
Is the XM icon red?
YES -Do the troubleshooting for the voice guidance cannot be heard, is broken up, or there is static (see GPS ICON IS WHITE OR NOT SHOWN ).
NO -Go to step 5.
- Substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit (see
AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - ('10 MODEL) ).
Can the navigation system control XM radio functions?
YES -Replace the original audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - ('10 MODEL) ).
NO -Replace the XM receiver (see STEREO AMPLIFIER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).

When to See a Mechanic
