Hot Engine

1983 Honda Prelude AutomaticSECTION Hot Engine
  1. Disconnect the air suction lower hose at the anti-afterburn valve. Start the engine and quickly raise the engine speed to 3500 RPM. Close the throttle suddenly. There should be vacuum. If there is vacuum, test is complete.
  2. If there is no vacuum, check for voltage at the anti-afterburn control solenoid valve (Blue/Yellow wire). If voltage is available, go to Trouble Shooting. If there is no voltage, replace the anti-afterburn control solenoid valve and retest.
