- Remove dust boot retaining band from inner CV joint. Slide boot back away from joint. Remove and discard inner CV joint spring clip. Separate joint housing from axle shaft.
- On Civic models, wipe grease from joint. Remove large snap ring and separate shaft with ball bearing from housing. On Accord and Prelude models, remove snap ring. Slide spider and rollers off shaft. On all models, remove inner retaining band from dust boot and slide boot off shaft.
- On Civic models, remove retaining band from damper weight and slide weight off shaft. On all models, remove outer retaining band from outer CV joint and clean joint of grease to check operation of joint.
