  1. Disassemble rocker arm shaft assemblies. Inspect components for damage.
  2. Measure O.D. of rocker arm shaft in rocker arm operating areas. Measure I.D. of rocker arm. Determine oil clearance. Replace components if not within specification. See ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY SPECIFICATIONS table.
  3. Using dial indicator and "V" blocks, check rocker arm shaft runout. Replace shaft if runout exceeds specification. See ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY SPECIFICATIONS table. To reassemble, coat components with engine oil and reverse disassembly procedure.
