Repair Procedures: Installation
2021 Genesis GV80 2.5T Advanced, AWDSECTION Installation
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.WARNING:
- Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning work.
- Place a side airbag on the side airbag frame and tighten the side airbag mounting nuts.
Tightening torque:
5.9 - 7.8 N.m (0.6 - 0.8 kgf.m, 2.9 - 5.8 lb-ft)
- Install a new seat back cover.
(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "FRONT SEAT BACK COVER ")
NOTE:- Make sure that the airbag assembly cover is installed properly. Improper installation may prevent a proper deployment.
- Install a front seat assembly.
(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY ")
- Recline and slide the front seat forward fully, make sure the harness wires are not pinched or interfered by other parts.
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- After installing the side airbag, confirm proper system operation.NOTE:
- Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should turn on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
