DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

2021 Genesis GV80 2.5T Advanced, AWDSECTION DTC Detecting Condition
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Individual cylinder air-fuel check
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Air leakage in the intake system
  3. Improper fuel pressure or dirty fuel
  4. Faulty GDI injectors
  5. Faulty HO2S
Enable Condition
  • Engine speed after starting 768 - 960 RPM (depends on ECT at start-up)
  • Driving condition
    • Difference between the actual engine speed and the filtered engine speed is less than 75 RPM
    • Difference between the actual intake air volume and the filtered intake air volume is less than 45 mg/stroke
    • Difference between the actual torque value and the filtered torque value is less than 15%
    • Difference between the actual lambda value and the filtered lambda value is less than 4%
  • Catalyst model temperature below 900Β°C (1652Β°F)
  • Atmospheric pressure higher than 75 kPa
  • Lambda target value 0.97 - 1.03
  • Lambda closed loop control status
  • Catalyst heating completed
  • Crankshaft segment adaptation completed (engine rough calculation valid)
  • Not in a fuel shut-off state
  • Not in full load condition (acceleration pedal less than 90%)
  • Not be rough road
  • Will not be a misfire state
  • Standardized engine rough standard deviation of each cylinder less than 50/sec2
  • Coolant temperature sensor higher than 56Β°C (132.8Β°F)
  • Engine speed 1088 - 2496 RPM (GDI 100% driven or MPI active)
  • Target fuel amount 12 - 40 mg/stroke (GDI 100% driven or MPI active)
  • State of combustion mode unchanged condition
  • Canister unchanged condition
  • GDI 100% driven or MPI active
Threshold Value
  • If the cylinder imbalance adaptation value is more than 10% or less than -15%
Diagnostic Time
  • Within 2 air-fuel ratio adaptation cycles (lambda stimulation (lean ↔ rich) cycle for each cylinder)
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
RENDER: 1.0x

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

  • β€’ You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
  • β€’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
  • β€’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
  • β€’ You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
  • β€’ You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
