Repair Procedures: Replacement
- When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
- Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
- Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Floor Console - "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")
- Using a flat-tip screwdriver or remover and remove the crash pad side cover (A).
- Using a flat-tip screwdriver or remover and remove the front door scuff trim (A).
- After loosening the hood release hinge (A) mounting bolts, remove the hood release assembly (B).
- Remove the cowl side trim (A).
- Loosen the mounting screws and remove the crash pad lower panel (A).
- Press the lock pin and separate the connector (A).
- Press the lock pin and separate the diagnosis connector (A).
- Using a remover, remove the cluster fascia upper garnish (A).
- Loosen the mounting screws and remove the cluster fascia panel & steering column shroud upper panel assembly (A).
- Loosen the mounting screws and remove the cluster assembly (A).
- Separate the connector and remove cluster assembly.
- Remove the head up display (HUD) unit.

- Remove the steering wheel.

- Remove the multifunction switch assembly.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ")
- Loosen the mounting screws by turning the steering wheel to the left and right, and remove the steering column shroud lower panel (A).
- Press the lock pin and separate the connector (A).
- Remove the glove box.

- Remove the crash pad side cover [RH].
(Refer to Crash Pad - "CRASH PAD SIDE COVER ")
- Loosen the mounting screws and remove the crash pad garnish [RH] (A).
- Separate the start button connector (A).
- Loosen the mounting screws and nuts, remove the glove box housing cover (A).
- Separate the glove box lamp connector (A).
- Separate the glove box switch connector (A).
- Loosen the mounting screw, remove the crash pad center molding (A).
- Press the lock pin, separate the crash pad mood lamp connector (A).
- Loosen the mounting screws and nut, remove the crash pad center panel garnish (A).
- Loosen the mounting screws and nut, remove the crash pad center panel [RH] (A).
- Loosen the mounting screw and remove the PM sensor (A).
- Press the lock pin and separate the PM sensor connector (A).
- Using a flat-tip screwdriver, remove the crash pad under cover and then separate the foot lamp connector (A).
- Loosen the mounting screws and nut, remove the crash pad center panel [LH] (A).
- Press the lock pin, separate the in-car sensor (A) and crash pad mood lamp connector (B).
- Remove the crash pad upper garnish.
- Loosen the mounting screws and remove the front monitor (A).
- Separate the connectors and then remove the front monitor.
- Remove the cluster speaker (A) and center speaker (B).
- Separate the connector and remove the center speaker.
- Remove the clip (A) attached to the crash pad upper garnish and disconnect the security sensor connector (B).
- Loosen the mounting screws, remove the AVN head unit (A).
- Separate the AVN head unit connectors (A).
- Remove the front pillar trim [LH, RH] (A).
- Loosen the airbag mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque:
16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)
- Loosen the mounting bolts, nuts and remove the main crash pad assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)
- Press the lock pin and separate the passenger airbag module connector (A).
- To install, reverse removal procedure.
Information
- Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
- Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
- Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
- Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
