Removal Procedure

2023 GMC Canyon Elevation, 4WDSECTION Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
  2. Reposition the inside rearview mirror.

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  4. Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Bracket Cover Insert (1) - Remove

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully pry downward on the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (1) to release it from the windshield.

    Disconnect all electrical connectors, if equipped.

  8. Inside Rearview Mirror Bolt (1) - Remove
  9. NOTE:

    Slide the inside rearview mirror off the mirror mount.

  10. Inside Rearview Mirror (2) - Remove

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  12. Unlatch the inside air moisture and windshield temperature sensor from the inside rear view mirror support bracket.
  13. Inside Air Moisture and Windshield Temperature Sensor (1) - Remove and DISCARD

    NOTE:

    Observe the mounting and location of the front view camera to ensure proper reinstallation.

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  15. Release the retaining tabs.
  16. Slide the front view camera (1) upward to release.

    NOTE:

    Do NOT remove or service the sensor farm pins.

    Disconnect the electrical connectors and release the wiring harness retainers as necessary.

  19. Release the front view driver information camera bracket (1) retaining tabs and slide the bracket upward to disengage the sensor farm pins.
  20. Gently pull the front view driver information camera bracket (1) away from the windshield.

    Windshield Washer Pump Hose (1) - Disconnect

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  24. Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

  26. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]
  27. Windshield Wiper Arm - Left Side and Right Side (3) - Remove [2x]

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [8x]

  29. Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) - Remove
  30. Cover to protect the following parts from broken glass:
    • Upper Dash Pad
    • The defroster outlets and A/C outlets
    • The seats and carpeting
  31. NOTE:

    Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.

  32. Using the appropriate tool, carefully cut around the lace, start in the center working from side to side of the window to access the urethane adhesive bead.

    NOTE:

    Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window.

    Use BO-24402-AΒ  Glass Sealant Remover (1) to remove the window.

    • Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange.
    • The only suitable lubrication is clear water.

    With the aid of an assistant, remove the windshield (1) and locating pins (2) from the vehicle.
