Circuit/System Verification

2021 GMC Terrain SLT, 4WDSECTION Circuit/System Verification
NOTE:

Verify Stop/Start system related campaigns or special policies have been completed prior to proceeding.

  1. Ignition OFF, measure and record the battery voltage at the battery terminals.
  2. Verify the battery voltage stabilizes between 12.4 and 12.8 V within a few minutes of turning the ignition OFF.
    • Go to next step: If battery voltage is between 12.4 and 12.8 V 
  3. Engine running, headlights ON, measure and record the battery voltage at the battery terminals.
  4. Verify the voltage is at least 1 V greater than the voltage measured in step 1, but less than 15 V.
    • If the voltage is not at least 1 V greater than the voltage measured in step 1 or is greater than 15 V. 

      Refer to Charging System Test .

    • Go to next step: If the voltage is at least 1 V greater than the voltage measured in step 1, but less than 15 V. 
  5. Inspect the wiring circuits to the B110 Battery Sensor Module for proper routing and/or damage.
    • If a condition is found 

      Repair the condition.

    • Go to next step: If no condition is found 
  6. Verify no current or history DTCs are set for devices on LIN circuit 2855.
    • Go to next step: If no DTCs are set 
  7. Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
