WARNING:

Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and ConnectionΒ .
  2. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) , Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (Diesel) .
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Fig 1: Identifying Auxiliary Generator Electrical Connector, Protective Boot Cover, B+ Positive Battery Cable Nut And Terminal

  5. Disconnect the auxiliary generator electrical connector (1).
  6. Slide the protective boot cover (2) down the positive battery cable.
  7. Remove the B+ positive battery cable nut (3) and terminal (4) from the back of the auxiliary generator.

  9. Remove the auxiliary generator bolts (1).
  10. Remove the auxiliary generator (2).
