ECM Replacement

2011 GMC Yukon Base, 5.3 0, RWDSECTION ECM Replacement

If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:

  1. The ECM Reprogramming-Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
  2. The CKP Variation Learn-Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn , for the 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L or 6.2L and Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn for the 6.0L Hybrid.
  3. The Throttle/Idle Learn procedure-Refer to the following:
  4. The Theft Deterrent Programming-Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Programming and Setup .
  5. The Fuel Composition Diagnostic, as necessary-Refer to Fuel Composition Diagnosis .
  6. Engine Oil Life Remaining-When available, use a scan tool to reset the Engine Oil Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
  7. Transmission Fluid Life Remaining-When available, use a scan tool to reset the Transmission Fluid Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
