Installation Procedure
- Install the indirect fuel injector line retainer to the fitting.
- Install the indirect fuel injector (2) and tighten the fitting to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
- Install the indirect fuel injector fasteners (1) and (2) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
- Perform the Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration. Refer to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration EnableΒ .

The indirect fuel injector and its fuel lines must be purged of air any time it is removed or replaced. Failure to do so may damage the injector. Perform the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration Enable any time the indirect injector or its fuel lines are removed or replaced. This will force a regeneration as soon as conditions allow and will purge any air from the system.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- β’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- β’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- β’ You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
