2011 GMC Savana Special 4.8 ASECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the water pump O-ring (3) with engine oil.
  2. Install the water pump outlet pipe gasket (4) and the lubricated water pump O-ring (3).
  3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the water pump nut (1) and bolts (2). Ensure the correct length bolt is used in the proper location and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (1) to the studs (2) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  7. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
  8. Install the thermostat bypass pipe. Refer to Thermostat Bypass Pipe Replacement (LGH)Β .
  9. Install the radiator outlet pipe. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LR4, LM7, LQ4)Β , Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LU3)Β , Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LGH)Β
