2011 GMC Savana Special 4.8 ASECTION Installation Procedure (Battery, Charging System And Starting System)

  1. Install the battery tray to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the vacuum pump hoses and electrical connector.
  3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the battery tray bolts and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  6. Install the battery.
  7. Install the battery hold-down retainer and bolt and tighten to 18 N.m (12 lb ft).
  8. Install the fender brace.
  9. Install the battery limiter to the vehicle if equipped.

  11. Install the positive battery cable to the battery and tighten to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
  12. Install the battery negative cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and ConnectionΒ .

    Tighten the terminal bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  13. Install the coolant recovery reservoir and tighten to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
