Removal Procedure

- Using a scan tool, retrieve the percentage of remaining engine oil. Record the remaining engine oil life.
- Remove the windshield washer solvent container. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement .
- Disengage the integral connector position assurance (CPA) retainer (1) on the body wiring harness electrical connector.
- Disconnect the body wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the ECM.
- Disengage the integral CPA retainers on the engine wiring harness electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (2) from the ECM.
- Lift up the ECM bracket tabs (2) and tilt the ECM (1) towards the front of the vehicle, removing the ECM (1).
