2009 GMC Canyon 4D Pickup, 2.9 9SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Lightly lubricate the NEW lower O-ring seals with mineral oil GM P/N 9981704.
  2. Install the NEW O-ring seals onto the tip of each injector.

  4. Position the fuel rail to the cylinder head, insert the spray tip ends of the fuel injectors into the cylinder head.
  5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. Install the fuel rail bolts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the fuel injector harness electrical connector.
  9. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .

  11. Connect the EVAP purge tube to the throttle body control module (2) and the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .

  13. Connect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting (1) to the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
  14. Inspect for leaks.
    1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
