Removal Procedure
2009 GMC Canyon 4D Pickup, 2.9 9SECTION Removal Procedure

- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 2.9L engine or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 3.7L engine.
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement for the 2.9L engine or Drive Belt Replacement for the 3.7L engine.
- Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
- Disconnect the oil pressure sensor harness clip from the pump body.
- Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
- Disconnect the power steering pressure hoses from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts.
- Remove the power steering pump.
