Installation Procedure

2009 GMC Canyon 4D Pickup, 2.9 9SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator.
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the generator bolts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine wiring harness/positive battery cable (2) to the generator.
  6. Install the engine wiring harness/positive battery cable nut to the generator.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  7. Position the engine wiring harness/positive battery cable boot (5).
  8. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the generator.
  9. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory .
  10. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and ConnectionΒ .
