  1. 2:  tests for the presence of vehicle speed related DTCs in the control modules where the vehicle speed message originates.

1 Did you perform the Power Steering System Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Power Steering System 
  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With the scan tool, select the Engine, or Transmission Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) function in Powertrain.
Does the scan tool indicate the presents of any ECM, or TCM DTCs?
Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List/Type in Automatic Transaxle AF33-5, or to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS in Diagnosis - VT25-E, or to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List/Type in Manual Transmission Go to Step 3

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the EPS DTCs
  2. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC.
Does the DTC reset?
